Bio

The illustrious and widely-known bad-boy Obie Fernandez is one of the world’s first prominent Rails evangelists and author of The Rails Way series of books, now in its seventh edition. During his tenure alongside his mentor Martin Fowler, Obie is arguably one of the first people in the world to get paid to do Rails development. He went on to found the famous Rails consultancy Hashrocket, and ever since gained project delivery experience with every major release of the framework. These days Obie is semi-retired and splits his time music and tech worlds. When he’s not rocking crowds as a festival DJ and techno producer, he is delivering valuable open-source code with his work on next generation AI language model-backed frameworks in his position as Partner and Chief Consultant at MagmaLabs.
